What can drinking too much Diet Dr Pepper do to you?

so my dad drinks like 3-4 cans of it a day.
and only eats junk food, meat, and processed frozen foods.
what are some of the health conditions that come with this food choice?
will his new diet of eating soup [with fritos] once a day for a month help?
[he'll still be drinking the diet dr pepper.]

The diet soda isn’t really the issue. It is mostly water with some caffeine and flavors. The rest of his diet isn’t good. He should give up as much junk and processed food as possible, they are very high in fat, sodium and preservatives. It is cancer and a heart attack on a plate.

That kind of diet is typically high in fat and cholesterol which can clog arteries and cause heart attacks, which may result in death. Also drinking any kind of soda is high in sugar, which corrodes teeth more quickly.
Yes, that new diet would help, but just barely. I diet that is that unhealthy needs a major turnaround, try getting him to eat raw fruit and vegetables or drink juice instead of soda.

There are many implications to drinking too much carbonated, caffeinated beverages. Here are just a few of the basics, but you should really do some serious research for more information. His general diet is more worrisome than his beverage habit.
1. too much phosphate (which is in carbonated beverages) tends to pull calcium from the system leading to an osteoporosis condition
2. the addition of all of the acid in the beverage can cause digestive issues, the least of which can be ulceration
3. too much dietary caffeine has been linked ( in preliminary studies) to an increase in breast cancer (this is NOT limited to women, men can get breast cancer too!
4. diet Dr. Pepper (or other diet sodas) is essentially bubbly, calorie-free, salt water which can really effect things like blood pressure.
I hope this helps…
