. It’s about this guy killing young women in their homes,
in the dead of the night, innocent and random. He breaks into their house, and kills them with a gun, after suffering from abusive parents. At age 5 he saw his mother kill his father with his father’s shotgun. Then his mother took him to live in Mississauga. At age 8, his mother dies after a drug binge. The boy is sent to live with a foster family. At age 14, boy kills foster family. He then runs away from home, never to be seen again, until later when he returns to kill.

Heavy. : ). Um I don’t know. Maybe you could pick a word with significant meaning from the story.

The best titles are ones that you can’t make up by reading a summary like this. Is there something special that comes up multiple times?
Otherwise, maybe use the name of the main character, or a play on his name.
By the way, title isn’t that important. Most publishers change the title.

“Eclipse” would be great, I think!!
An eclipse can be lunar {night} or solar {day}, and in this case it would be a Lunar Eclipse. The moon is blocked by a large shadow, so there is no light… that could signify WHEN he kills them. the shadow of the moon could signify their death. And though there is an estimated time when eclipses happen, it is not really known when exactly until it is right upon us. “Eclipse” would be perfect!
Can’t wait to find out what you name it! =D

Hi Div.
First, your publisher will probably want a say in the title.
That said, let’s see what I can suggest for you.
Young women remind me of flowers and lace and such things. With that in mind, perhaps:
Crushed Flowers
Tarnished Blossom
Picking Off Flowers (a play on picking them off as targets and picking flowers
Blood Meadow
A Bullet for My Lovely
Bullets & Blossoms
If I think of more, I’ll come back and add an EDIT.
Happy publishing!
=D

how about something like “what goes around comes around”? or you can try using the guy’s name….”Dead of Night” or “Innocent”….a title can be anything really, i’ve read books were the title was just totally random. don’t worry to much about a title, the publisher usually changes it anyway.

The light at the end of the tunnel
When teh light goes out
Trigger

Don’t use eclipse. There’s a book called eclipse.

Man in the moonlight
Murder in the moonlight
Moonlight Murders

Write the story and then pick something significant to be the title.

Blood Meadow caught my eye, I think that would be a good choice, and I agree; your publisher will want a say
Good luck!
Twisted and As Darkness Falls should be options too, they’re good names.
