I am worried about my dad…?

Ok so I am worried my dad might have diabetes. He says his mouth is really dry and he is always thirsty. I was like dad its not normal to drink that much and hes like oh my mouth is just dry that is it. He went for a blood test a few months ago (to test for diabetes, high blood pressure…) but my dads diabetes numbers were really high so they said that some how the result’s got messed up and he has to retake the test. Well he hasn’t gone to retake the test yet. I mean all he does is eat sweets and stuff so if he does have diabetes his blood sugar would be through the roof….
I dk what to do… He is taking me to the doctor this week (his doctor too) should I tell my dad to bring it up with the doctor?? Or what else could I do??
Thanks!!

tell him you are worried , make an appt for him and insist he go , cause if he is diabetic and not taking proper care of oneself ,he is destroying his important vital organs ,go with him and tell the doctor

what about your mom? can’t she talk to him? when you see the doc this week, bring it up to him in front of your dad. don’t wait for dad to say something cause he probably won’t.no one (especially men) like to admit that there might be something going on with their health. if you bring it up, he’ll have no choice but to face the doc.

Diabetes can be diagnosed in one or two visits to the doctor.
In two visits, if his blood sugar level is above 120 mg/dL (6.7 mmol/L) and *bellow* 200 (11.1).
In one visit, if the sugar level is at or above 200 (11.1).
So, the fact that a second visit is needed would tell me that his blood sugar level was above 120 (6.7) but bellow 200 (11.1). You should actually be thankful that a second visit was required of him.
If your dad EVER AGAIN has a blood sugar level that is above 120 or 6.7, he should go to a doctor inmediately, as he is diabetic.
Now, your dad better get used to drinking every time he gets thirsty. As more liquid in his body would also mean more diluent to decrease your sugar level, and since his urination level would automatically increase with high blood sugar levels, he could end up dehydrated very easily.
Should he see a doctor. Yes, definitely. Indeed, it is one of the few things that are both important and urgent. So he better go to a doctor, tomorrow if at all possible. (Assuming, of course, that whatever time your doctor might have requested to have the decond test has already expired).
What could you do? Bring it to your doctor yourself.
Or, if he doesn’t wants to go to a doctor, ask him to stop by a nearby ADA or similar association or by one of the places that they test for the sugar level for free. If his level is above 120…”Go to JAIL immediately. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200.”
By the way, diabetes is a jail. The worst part is that there is currently no known way of escape.
