my father has been dealing with marriage problems and turned to serious drugs, he’s depressed and knows that he has a problem. When i look at him i see him sad and dealing with it and i want to help him, i dont want him to feel alone, i want to be able to be there for him and help him i just dont know how or what to say.

The best way to let him know that you want to help is by telling him you are there for him when ever he is ready to talk and that he is not a lone. Most people turn to drugs because they want to feel anything but how they really feel. You can only help the ones that want the help.

There are lots of support groups in North America for people who are dealing with addiction in their lives or for the families of those people and I recommend that you find out where your local one is and go. It will really help you to understand what you can and can’t do for him and educate you on what you are doing right now to enable his behaviour. Good luck.

try talking to him. say something, anything is better than nothing.let him know that you are very worried about him. rehab might be another solution. wish you the best of luck.
