How do I my break video games addiction?
Posted by adminMar 31
Ok, well here is the situation…
In 2007, on Easter day, we visited my cousins/uncles/aunties place and my cousins were play counter strike source. Since then I was asking my dad to buy it for me, and when he did, all I would do it play css. I never got out much, apart from school. A couple weeks ago, i managed to break my addiction for a month or 2 but know im back into it and cant help. I WOULD go out more, but I dont have many friends that live in the same suburb as me, which IS the reason I dont go out. One of my friends has gone on a holiday for 3 months, and I visit my other friend every now and then (maybe once a fortnight or month)
So i suppose if more friends lived closer to me, I would have this problem. I dont play winter sports I only play cricket (best sport ;D)
my dad is making me a bench press soon so that might help a little bit… Any ideas please
I DO HAVE FRIENDS!!!
THEY JUST DONT LIVE CLOSE…

Relax. Who needs friends? Just keep playing video games forever and ever and ever.

Whenever you feel like playing just find somthing diffrent to do. Read a book, go on your computer, watch tv. Or join a sport or club at your school

Stop playing!
I was hung on UO, CS, DAoC, WC3, WoW, and now I’m free.. But now I’m addicted to other things like reading news on the web and Digg and junk. If you want to break your addiction, just be prepared to fill the time with something else more productive, like physical activity or another more productive hobby!

i think to make sure you dont play it have some one put it some were you cant get it. try doing some other things like going to parks, hang with your friends, and go on walks and stuff like that hehe.

um r u british by any chance. well here in america you go find frends and then do something. one of our fave things to do is play air soft if you brits know wat it is. also football is a true mans sport not cricket and if ur goin to play a sport like that play baseball. anyway how do u hav no frends at all from school or ur “sport”. rite now im managing to do baseball, football conditioning, and hang out with frends.
so my tip to u wud be just get involved with things and u will find that you hav less extra time and ur video game addiction will gradually fade away
its like when u try to stop smoking u just do less and less and less every day and then one day u figure out u dont need to smoke anymore

break your game console..eh..that would be really sad (and expensive)..rather, ask your parents to keep it and only give it to you at a certain time/day..also make a schedules of the times or days you will only play..for short, time management is a must..

try to limit yourself to a set amount of play time per day and STICK WITH IT. if self-discipline fails, then ask your parents to help (ie unplug internet, or just force you away from the computer). sounds a little extreme, but it’ll work.
of course, try to find another hobby: it’ll help a lot. for example, building models or playing a sport. it doesn’t have to be competitive; just make sure you’re out and moving.

If you have a camara go to your backyard and take pictures. I like to take pictures of flowers close up. Like really close. It will be nice cuz we’re still in spring. Hope that helped a little

Tell your dad to hide your console somewhere you’ll never find it. You play CRICKET?!?!?!
