I also attend 12 Step meetings for my sexually compulsive behaviors. My therapist is in agreement that I have a sexual behavior problem, and the therapist uses the term “sexual addiction” in describing my behavior problem. I won’t get into the details. My therapist asks a lot of questions about my childhood, and lately has focused on my father’s disciplinary actions, which can be viewed as physical abuse. Again, I will spare you the details. My therapist seems to imply that my “sexual addiction” is linked to physical abuse as a child. My question is how are the two linked? I am not into BDSM. I have my own theories, and I am interested in hearing your theories, particularly if you were physically abused as a child. I want to stress that I was NOT sexually abused. Thanks. Peace.

Why didn’t God withhold the money? Did he help fund the downfall? Could he have said no? Maybe, but he didn’t. The father puts money into the son’s hands and his crash is put on hyper speed.

Does God use hurt to reach us? He did for me. I mourn the ways I hurt my wife and myself. But, I would rather survive that storm, than wake up at 60, with a wasted lifetime of not knowing myself or God.

My father recently passed away and it’s been hard for me, but when I shop everything is better, I don’t think of the past and it really calms me down..I know it sounds crazy. :/ Anyone else have this problem?
Also when I don’t have any money to spend.. I find myself looking at clothes online and it calms me down a bit.

I dreampt that he had a stroke and he was dying..I was scared..I told him I loved him even though he did a lot of bad things..and I was scared..my dream showed itchy and scratchy..and all 3 of us chopped him up and put him in a paper shredder..then my dream went different and he disappeared, I though I killed him but I didn’t..I try to get the cops with my mom..my cellphone isn’t working, so I go to the station. The cops are unprofessional and they blast rap music from the patrol car. Finally cops go to the house..take his body and leave..there’s a lot of strangers in the house..this cute guy says he wants to go out with me cause his girlfriend doesn’t treat him good..his giorl gets mad and steals my cellphone..I never find it and I wake up..I also had a dream where my father buried a dead body in the backyard and where he molested me. These dreams are disturbing and I need interpretations.

Him breaking up with me left me homeless, because we lived together – so I came home to my parents [I'm 21].

My dad is addicted to drugs and has been physically and verbally abusive – so I went to a womens shelter – They helped me find an apartment and helped me out financially – I just got hired part time at Canadian Tire – but the government is still going to be helping me with things; crib, diapers, etc.

The dad doesn’t want me to keep the baby. Thinks adoption is the best option.

I’ve got a good support system, but I admit I’m broke scared and in rough shape right now. I want to keep my baby, I want to love him and be the best mother I can be. But I feel like keeping him isn’t fair. I have this sinking suspicion that his father won’t be a part of his life, what if I can never afford a Chuck-E-Cheese birthday party? .. Will he hate me for not giving him a chance at a better life?

He is in the military, has taken care of landon, paid for his circumcision.. and anything else you can think of, my husband has done it. My husband would like to adopt Landon.. however Im afraid if I start this process they will contact the biological and send him paperwork. I highly doubt he would fight it, since he hasnt had a care in the world since Landon was born. But theres always that chance. His bioligical I have heard from mutual friends has started doing Meth, and still smokes Marijuanna. (I found out after I got pregnant.) I couldnt imagine if he was to fight this, and have visitations to landon. I couldnt imagine handing landon over to someone who does drugs, and wasnt in his life in the first place. I live in California. Does anyone know how about this would go? Do I have a good chance at winning? Would the judge look at how the biological just disappeared and hasnt been a father? we need a way to force him into rehab. a friend gave me the idea to call the hospital and tell him he’s suicidal. he said to tell them to check his system for drugs and then they’ll find the crack and force him into rehab. but is that how it really works? cant they just evaluate him and send to jail? we dont want him in jail. it wont help him. we want him clean. not necessarily punished. i need help. i cant take much more of this abuse..

I’m 18 and the sister I am referring to is 17. I put addiction in quotes because I’m not entirely sure if most people would consider it an addiction. Our father that we live with is an alcoholic and always has been.

Ok, for starters most people would consider my sister odd. She is VERY intelligent in terms of booksmart. She’s ranked Top Person in her class of 104. I would say she is OCD, but I guess others just say anal. She will literally be sick over wrinkled papers. Everything has to be perfect and she’s VERY VERY organized.

To me, she always seems to be addicted to odd things. She always has cough drops to suck on, will not sleep unless she has a fan blowing in her face just to name two of the odd things.

On New Year’s Eve, we had a family party and my cousin made rum punch. My sister was drinking a ton of alcohol that night. I mentioned it and she told me to stop. Now I know she’s been drinking it more.
Just because I ran out of space up there….

She has in fact been drinking it more and with my parents’ knowledge of it. Any type of family get together starts off with her asking if she can have something of an alcohol nature because she’s just home and nothing could happen.

I really am deeply concerned about this. She has the world in her hands right now being so intelligent, but this could ruin EVERYTHING. I also fear that our father being an alcoholic is a huge factor in this.

Can anyone please offer some insight or advice in the situation. Please please only serious reponses only!

We weren’t married so there’s no custody order or visitation set up through the courts. I filed for child support about 3 months ago after I hadn’t heard from him for a while. He still hasn’t been served the papers because he’s evading the guys who are trying to serve them.

He admitted that the reason he wasn’t coming around was because he got “mixed up with the mexican mafia” and things went bad. He says he’s been doing meth but that he’s not addicted and it’s just something he’s been doing to lift his spirits because he’s been depressed with where his life is at.

He says that he’s straightened things out with the guys who were “after him” and that he quit doing meth a couple weeks ago on his own. He has pending court charges for marijuana transport but says he’s getting off with a slap on the wrist because it’s his first offense. He’s also driving around with a suspended license due to unpaid fines. (He TELLS me all of this).

I offered to meet him at a park and have him hang out with our son there for an hour while I read a book in the car, since I know my son has been very hurt by his absence and has wanted to see him. Well, when we were leaving the park a creepy big gang-banger ex-con looking guy walked up to my ex and was obviously on drugs and was asking for his number and was rude to my ex and acted like he should be afraid of him. This scared me!

Now my ex is texting asking when he can see our son again. I am at a loss. I don’t know this man anymore and he’s gone so far downhill it’s scary. I don’t want to deny my son SAFE access to his father, but I don’t want to deal with my ex on a regular basis and listen to the sob story he tells to make his bad choices okay.

If I did decide to go through the courts what is the likelihood that I could get supervised visitation for him and my son… so that I don’t have to deal with him? It would just be my word against his. Couldn’t he deny ever admitting this stuff to me and then the courts might grant him overnights or something??? Just scared and would like to know what I should expect as far as custody, visitation, etc if the courts knew his current situation.
