Can you please tell me about Edgar Allan Poe’s life, and How it influenced his work?

I know he had a very tragic life, from the beginning, when his dad left his mom, when she was pregnant with him, and later she dies when poe was really young. And then his marriage to his 13 year old cousin, when he was 26. His, alcoholism, gambling, and later dieing at only at the age of 40.
All of them has a noted influence in his works, but I cant seem to grasp it well..

I’m reading a book right now called “The Poe Shadow,” by Matthew Pearl, which is about the suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. You should try it, it’s interesting.

He fell down dead outside the bar “and the horse you came in on” in Baltimore….and if you have ever seen it, you know it explains a lot….
He was attracted to purity AND seedy things – its difficult to admire and loathe both. Practically everything that he does is in someway an attempt to bond with one of those, or reconcile his conflicts between those two things…its the primary way one is able to find beauty in impermanence, in other words, nostalgic Romanticism….
